Seeing that this is my first post to a blog I started a year ago I am not sure that I will gain any followers posting only once a year but I thought I would finally give this blog thing a roll. I want to give my family and friends a way to stalk, I mean keep up with all the funny and crazy things that my kids say and do.
Since my kids seem to make me laugh daily, what could be better than posting something that has the potential to make people smile or laugh. I have read that laughing burns an average of 1.3 calories per minute so maybe I can help with that New Year's resolution we have all forgot about now. Of course, if you ate a Big Mac you may have to re-read quite a few post to burn that off so I am not going to guarantee that reading my blog will make you skinny, beautiful or look 10 years younger.
In case you just stumbled upon this blog and are wondering what in the world I am talking about when I mention "P'nut", "B", "J.A." or my "Girlie-girl," those are the nicknames for our wonderful kids ages 4, 6, 6, and 8.
Let me sum up my day with three quotes from my kids:
1. This morning I asked P'nut to stop picking her nose and she responded, "But mommy, boogers are so yummy!" (I couldn't even respond, just smiled and passed the hand sanitizer.)
2. As I am pulling into preschool I am asked, "Mom, when I am a mommy, will you be dead? I hope not." (Glad that last part was thrown in! I was rating my parenting on that answer. Not really, well kind of.)
3. Me: "B what did you do at school today?"
B: "Ate a fly and an ant"
(This is where you pretend you didn't hear the answer, reword the sentence and pray that he misunderstood the question. Nope, you both heard right...this is where you are thankful it wasn't a fire ant.)
Well, that was a relatively painless first post. Maybe I will get to the next one before 2013...notice I said "Maybe".
