Little boys and chores
Yesterday I learned the need to explain myself better when giving directions. I was telling B (our special needs son) that I wanted him to empty the trash in the bathroom. Well, being a sweet, obedient boy he proceeded to "empty" the trash and I went about getting other things done. It wasn't until a few minutes later that I realized he had been in the bathroom a little too long. I opened the bathroom door only to find him emptying the trash in the toilet and flushing it down the drain. His hands were fishing in the toilet for the empty toilet paper rolls and all he said was, "you told me to empty the trash." Bless, I forget kids can be so literal. Lesson learned. I will from this point tell him where I would like the trash emptied.
On a completely different note, sweet P'nut told me yesterday the she "couldn't hear me because her eyes were closed." I probably shouldn't have laughed at her being sassy but it was just too funny not to enjoy the humor of the moment.
